  • Click our live “check availability button which you can find in the top right hand corner of our header. This will take to our live calendar. Add your dates and it will confirm if you dates are available and you will be taken on to the booking page.

  • You can make secure card payment via Stripe.

  • Absolutely. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like the room made up as a king, so that we can schedule sufficient time to make up the room accordingly

  • For stays which are due to take place more than 56 days away, we take a 30% deposit. For stays which fall before this, we take full payment, which are refundable against our T&Cs.

  • Yes, we allow up to two small or medium sized dogs at any one time. We charge £30 per dog per stay which you can add at the booking stage. We have further details in our T&Cs related to pet stays here.

  • The cottage comfortably accommodates six people. We can i addition add a travel cot for a young child to sleep. However, we do not offer additional space for more than this.

  • Free on street parking is available between the hours of 6pm-8am outside the cottage. However, there is paid for parking ranging from £5.50-12.50 per 24 hours available near by. Please see our suggestions here.

  • There is no car charging facility at the property. However, there is one located at Middletons Hotel, two minutes walk from the property. Further details can be found here.

  • Yes to all of the above! And we provide shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, hand wash and laundry detergent to lighten you packing and make your stay as smooth as possible.

  • As the property dates back to 1861, it naturally has a few architectural quirks which some guests may struggle with. There is a winding staircase to the top floor bedroom, which has limited ceiling height in parts and a ceiling beam (see our gallery pictures of Mouse Retreat if in doubt), may inhibit movement for some. In addition, the main bathroom has a roll top bath with overhead shower. Whilst we do offer a non-slip bathmat for use in the shower, there are no handrails.

  • If you have paid a deposit only, we will send an email with a Stripe link for you to make payment once your stay falls within 56 days of arrival.

  • We have free high-speed internet connection at the cottage. Access details are provided in your check-in details and the welcome pack located at the cottage.

  • For our guests that book direct, we offer an 11 am check out and 4pm check out.

  • Where possible, we will store luggage at the cottage before and after check-in times by prior agreement dependent upon our availability. However, we have negotiated a discount with a local luggage store company (£4 per bag), if we are unable to store your luggage for the duration.

  • You will receive details the day before your arrival via email. If you would prefer to receive these by text, please ensure you supply an up to date mobile number including international dialling code and that you are contactable via WhatsApp.

  • We offer refunds in line with our T&Cs. We advise all guests to ensure they have up to date travel insurance in the event that they have to cancel at late notice.

  • We kindly ask guests prior to leaving to deposit all rubbish in the bins provided, place all used dishes in the dishwasher and return all items to their original place. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee, but rather ask guests to treat our home with respect by following the pre-check out instructions. Every little helps!

  • Of course! We love feedback. Post-stay, you will receive an email asking for your feedback. We also have a QR code located on-site to encourage you to leave feedback on your preferred social media platform, allowing your entire group to share their experience.

  • Please alert us to anything you may have left behind as soon as possible and we will arrange the best methods of return for your items.

  • We try to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay with us throughout. If for whatever reason you are unhappy with the accommodation, please reach out to us at the earliest opportunity and we will do our utmost to remedy this for you.

  • We do not allow smoking or vaping inside the property. There is an ashtray located in the courtyard for those who wish to smoke in this area alone.

  • We ask that all breakages no matter how large or small are reported to us at the time of occurrence. This ensures that we are able to rectify these as best as possible for our next guests which could be you.

  • All charges for breakages are discretionary. For owner and guest peace of mind, we take an inventory and time stamped photos of the property prior to every check-in.

  • For our complimentary Continental breakfast provisions, we do not cater to specific dietary requirements.
